Voice lessons in Birmingham, Michigan

Rooted in science.
Grown through song.

Private voice lessons for singers of every age, built on how the voice actually works. You’ll learn what to do, why it works, and how to find that sound again on your own.

and watch the lines answer you.

The Marigold approach

Teaching the voice from the inside out

Most singers are taught what to do. I teach why it works. When you know what good singing feels like, and not only what it sounds like, you can find it again tomorrow instead of hoping it shows up.

Lessons draw on vocal anatomy, speech-language science, and Alexander Technique, explained in plain language and matched to your age and experience.

Most singers walk into auditions hoping it goes well.

Walk into yours knowing you’re ready.

Vocal health

You have a skincare routine. Do you have a vocal hygiene routine?

Small daily habits protect your voice for life.

Body mapping

Singers are working against their own bodies without knowing it.

A few corrections can free up your whole sound.

Marigold Voice Studio

Not all voice lessons are built the same.

Here’s what goes into one of mine.

Meet your teacher

Caitlyn Sarafa

Caitlyn studied vocal performance at the University of Michigan and earned her master’s in vocal performance and pedagogy at the University of Colorado Boulder. She has sung roles including Poppea and Nannetta, and soprano solos in Mozart and Fauré.

In 2022 she had surgery for a vocal cyst and spent months in voice therapy. It changed how she thinks about vocal health, and it’s a big part of why she opened the studio.
